SILENT LETTERS, The

Professor Fuzzy’s tip:

Some words in the English language contain letters that are written but not pronounced. These are called silent letters.

Professor Fuzzy remembers:

When I first started in show business, I played a concert. I said to the audience,

“You are all like silent letters! I know you are there because I can see you… but you don’t make a sound!”

 USA:

We always say the USA and the UK.

Sometimes we say the when we want to talk about one specific example…

to mean the “one and only”.

I’m not talking about that Joe Smith, I’m talking about the Joe Smith…

We never have to say the Professor Fuzzy because as everyone knows…

 There’s only one Professor Fuzzy!
